It’s not so much what you like to do, but why you like to do it. My story about Golden Circle by Simon Sinek.
It was a bright summer morning when I finally answered that one crucial question.
I was no different than the others — an average interior designer with average performance and expectations. I lived from client to client, trying to do my best to make money. It seemed like my life would go on like this forever.
I was on the verge of burnout.
I came across WHAT, HOW, WHY set of questions to improve my business.
I started looking for information on how to change my life.
Finally, I came across the concept of the “Golden Circle” by Simon Sinek. My eyes widened in amazement. I finally understood that making money is always the result of work, but why am I working as an interior designer in the first place?
I expected that answering these questions would help me improve my business.
By thinking about these questions, I was able to better define the meaning of my entire life.
The best way to get inspired is to, check out “Golden Circle” by Simon Sinek TED talk.
Then ask yourself:
- What do you do in your work that makes a difference (how big the difference is don’t matter), that you enjoy doing, and that you do well?
- How do you approach this task, perhaps differently than others or differently than you’d approach other things?
- Based on the above answers: Why did you make what you do your job?
“People don’t buy WHAT you do; they buy WHY you do it.” Simon Sinek
I regained my drive and rebuilt my creativity.
My work and my life took on a deeper meaning.
