Are you curious enough to try something completely new in less than a minute for free?

It’s easy and you’ll have a lot of fun. Create your account at app.sketchup.com. It’s free.

Save your coffee for later.

Step 1 — Don’t stare at the void.

I know, infinite space can be overwhelming the first time.

That’s why they put up a human figure so you can get an idea of the proportions. These colored lines are the axes you don’t have to worry about for now. We’ll be using keyboard shortcuts, so please leave out the side toolbars as well.

Let’s dive in. Click anywhere next to the human figure and press L

Step 2 — Let yourself be guided.

Has your cursor turned into a pencil? Then let’s draw.

Click once with the left mouse button next to the origin of the axes. Move the mouse along the green axis. When your new edge turns green, type 6' and press Enter.

You’ve drawn the first edge of the base of the cube.

Step 3 — have fun

Now it’s time to go downhill.

Move the mouse so that the line connected to the cursor turns red. Are you ready? Type 6' and press Enter. Repeat the process for another edge, this time looking for green again. Move the mouse so that the stand square can be closed.

While creating the last edge, hover over the starting point and click.

Step 4 — Experience speed

Now it gets even easier.

Type P. Hover over the square fill. It’ll cover with blue dots. Click once and move the cursor parallel to the blue axis. Type 6' and press Enter. That’s it.

You can hold down the middle mouse button (I mean the scroll wheel) and view your cube from all sides.

Step 5 — be enchanted

To increase your satisfaction, you can quickly change the drawing style.

In the left toolbar, you’ll find the style menu (click on the 7th icon from the top). Select “Sketchy Edges” and let your creativity run wild.

Now you can make yourself a cup of coffee.
